1. Planning and Design

• Materials and Tools:

2. Preparation

3. Installation

• Fixtures:
  • Recessed Lights:
    • Cut Holes: Cut holes in the deck where the recessed lights will be installed. Ensure the holes are the correct size for the fixtures.
    • Mounting: Insert the recessed light housings into the holes. Secure them according to the manufacturer’s instructions, ensuring they are flush with the deck surface.
  • Surface-Mounted Lights:
    • Mounting: Attach the surface-mounted fixtures to the deck using screws or mounting brackets. Ensure they are level and securely fastened.
  • Post Cap Lights:
    • Placement: Place post cap lights on top of deck posts. Secure them according to the manufacturer’s instructions, often with screws or adhesive.
